HORSEPLAY – OPEN

December is here and anthologyofamess have good news to share with you.

We, Mariana Camiloti, Antonio de la Fe, Manou Koreman, Petra Söör and Robert Vesty are very glad to let you know that we have been selected to take one of the REFINE residencies at Chisenhale Dance Space this December (something you may have already heard).

Our ethos as “anthologyofamessers” towards making performances aligns itself with that of OPENLAB towards training as performers. OPENLAB is an artistic self-development project which regularly takes the shape of shared practice both in the studio and outdoors, and it was initiated by Antonio although all of us have taken part in it one way or another.

For the REFINE residency at Chisenhale Dance Space we want to bring together our performance making as well as our performance practice preparation.

So during the residency, OPENLAB and anthologyofamess will get together and the lab will be part of anthologyofamess open practice. Everyday a couple of us will be leading the session.

Expect the unexpected.

This is a list of the OPENLAB sessions run by anthologyofamess this December at Chisenhale Dance Space:

… Thursday 4 December, from 10 am to 12 pm in the Small Studio

… Friday 5 December, from 10 am to 12 pm in the Small Studio

… Thursday 11 December, from 10 am to 12 pm in the Main Studio

… Friday 12 December, from 10 am to 12 pm in the Main Studio

… Saturday 13 December, from 1 to 3 pm in the Main Studio

Please, feel free to come to all, some, or even just one of the sessions.

After the sessions (except for Friday 5) we will stay in the studio to make Horseplay as part of the REFINE residency. Horseplay is a living piece and therefore our time in the studio will be an Open House, so you will be able to stay and be part of our audience if you wish.

For this month instead of pay-what-you-can we will ask you to give-what-you-would-like-to-share-with-us. You can still give money to contribute for the space on Friday 5 (which is outside of our residency time) but you can also donate anything that you would like to be part of Horseplay. Give us cake, Horseplay will eat it or share it with the audience. Give us clothes, Horseplay will wear it or decorate with it. Give us 5 minutes playing our organ (and recording it for us), Horseplay will dance and sing your music…

Obviously these are simply a few examples of an interminable list of possibilities.

We would love you to be, do and perform with us during these days.
